Delta Waterfowl is the nation’s oldest waterfowl conservation organization. Since it’s inception in 1911, the Delta Waterfowl Foundation has strived to become North America’s leader in waterfowl ecology and waterfowl hunting. The core of Delta’s operation is its student research program, which was initiated in 1938 by “The Father of Wildlife Management”, Aldo Leopold. Delta’s student research has identified and developed waterfowl management activities that are beneficial to waterfowl production: Adopt A Pothole, Predator Management, and Hen Houses, all function with the dual goal of increasing waterfowl production and engaging sportsmen and sportswomen in conservation activities. The West Michigan Chapter of Delta Waterfowl is supporting the research by raising money for local waterfowl projects, and continuing to fund predator control methods on the breeding grounds. Delta also functions as a North American advocate and champion for the future of waterfowl hunting. Delta is committed to youth hunting.

Welcome To Our New Website

  Hi everyone,

We are just getting our new site up and running and are excited about taking our message on the world wide web.  Let me tell you a little about the West Michigan Chapter Of Delta Waterfowl.  The Chapter was formed in the fall of 2005 by Mic Furbush who spearheaded the organization early on. Mic was able to put together a group of dedicated duck hunters from the Muskegon Michigan area who organized the chapter's first fund raising event in the summer of 2006.  The first event was a small "Fun Shoot" which took place at the Seaway Gun Club in Muskegon Michigan. In the spring of 2007 Mic Furbush passed away after a long battle with cancer.  In August of 2007 the Chapter held the first annual "Mic Furbush Memorial Fun Shoot" in honor of Mic.  Currently the chapter is preparing for it's up coming fund raising banquet on February 28th at the Harbor Holiday Inn of Muskegon.

Today the chapter is led by 7 committee members:

  • Kevin Bouwman, Chairman
  • Greg Bouwman, Vice Chairman
  • Chris Simpson, Treasurer
  • Marc Curtis, Secretary
  • Pastor Greg Vander Meer, Chapter Chaplain
  • Randy Kooi, Committee Member
  • Dave Fisher, Committee Member
